Diaries, 1777-1828 (bulk 1802-1828).

Clinton's diaries kept from July 1802-Feb. 1828. Most entries are brief, similiar to those in an appointment book, listing names of persons, sometimes purpose of meeting, and occasionally notes on political matters. These volumes consist of smaller diaries bound together, often of widely varying size. Included in the volume for Aug. 12, 1824-Oct. 17, 1825 is a notebook of meeting minutes for The Club which met at the Academy of Kingston, Ulster County, N.Y. (1777-1781); these are not in Clinton's hand though he is listed as a member from 1781. The rest of this notebook includes diary entries by Clinton as well as more substantial notes on a variety of topics including insanity, railways, and canals in Connecticut.
